Meet the Team
Roxanne Watts is a 5th year doctoral student completing her predoctoral internship at Hines VA in Illinois. She is interested in exploring the role of kinship bonds in rearing resilient children and is completing a dissertation focused on the impacts of Fictive Kin relationships on the mental health of Black Americans.
Liz Lamkin is a 4th year doctoral student with research interests in health psychology and parental factors. Her dissertation will focus on parenting and health behaviors in college students.
Melanie Prater is a 4th year doctoral student with research interests in how parenting impacts risky sexual behaviors. Her thesis explores risky sex, parenting, psychological needs satisfaction and substance use in college students.
Ben Dolowich is a 3rd year doctoral student with research interests in parenting and social media involvement in college students.
Olivia Dixon is a first-year doctoral student with research interests in the influence of parenting styles on disordered eating in young adults. Her thesis will focus on the moderating effect of the self-determination theory on parenting styles and maladaptive eating patterns.
Sarah Stroud is a 2nd year Master's student with interests in predictors of overparenting in parents of college students.
